The “good news” letter
Sunday, 03/08/09
Hello Readers,
Listen to God’s voice calling you into action:
Matthew 9: 37-38 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
John 4: 35 Do you not say, ‘Four months more an then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.
John 5: 36-37 Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvest the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.
Galatians 6: 8-10 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at a proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially those who belong to the family of believers.
We as Christians are to be workers for Christ here on earth. (2 Corinthians 6: 1-3 As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the time of salvation.)
We can have a part of bringing the unsaved to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ so they can come to God through salvation. (Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.)
Jesus did not come to call the righteous, but he called the sinners and we are to do the same. (Matthew 10:24 A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.)
Join your brothers and sisters in Christ across the world! Open your eyes and ears and see what God is doing through those that love and trust him. God’s fields are ripe for harvest!
Now is the time to work in God’s fields!
