The “Good News” Letter
Sunday, 02/01/09
Hello Readers,
(Matthew 21:21-22 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”)
(Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.)
(Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.)
2 Corinthians 1: 10-11 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.)
(Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind. Be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.)
“You do more in praying then you do with preaching.” Bruce Mac Innes, Sunday, 01-25-09.
The scriptures noted above reveal to us that prayer should be a very cherished and wonderful way to praise, worship, and make requests to God our Father in Jesus’ name. Prayer is often overlooked by many as being not as productive as doing physical service to God. When WE work, WE work, when WE pray, GOD works. How much more can GOD do then we can attempt to do? Think about all these scriptures above and see how much more can be done to build God’s kingdom with prayer as the beginning of our efforts and then continue to be accomplished by God’s grace.
It is very exciting and sometimes earthshaking to have prayed and then witness God at work. In a lot of instances God will answer your prayer by doing more than you even thought to ask him for. There are so….. many references in the Bible to pray, praying and prayer and one should take notice that God considers prayer seriously.
Get alone in a quite place and pray to God, not in the words of someone else but your own heart felt words and believe that God will do what you have asked for within his will. God will hear you and answer your prayer. Sometimes God answers prayer in a way you may not expect, but God will answer your prayer. God knows all including our futures and being God he knows what is best for his children so you need not worry about his answer. Read the Bible and find out for yourself from many witnesses that have been mentioned in God's word that they received an answer to their prayers.
If you have confidential prayer requests, please email them to: denainc@windstream.net . Your prayer request will be laid at God’s throne and the pray that is prayed will be sent back to you.
