The “Good News” letter
Sunday, 02/15/09
Hello Readers,
Throughout the ages, people have joined with others who have the same interests as they do. It might be like interests as employment, training, parenting, music, books, religion, etc.
Being part of a group with the same interest can have a very exciting influence on us. We will meet others who share our interests who we may never have met otherwise. Support for one another is an outgrowth of many meetings. Friendships so often form over having the same interests.
Groups of Christians have similar interests in the things of God and also share the same desires of doing service to God. Such groups may include a Unity Circle, Mission Minded Services, Christian Bible Studies, Christian based book clubs, being part of the sponsorship of missionaries, Fellowship meetings, Community Outreach Programs, etc. There are Christian groups with like interests that meet in many churches, office buildings and homes.
Before you begin anything in service to God, pray for God’s guidance in selecting where he wants you to be and what he wants you to do then wait for God to answer you so you can be sure it is of God, and as you are faithful to his will, his blessing will be upon it.
As you pray over your service to God remember to ask wise consul and pray together: Matthew 18:19-20 “Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 16:24-25 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will loose it, but whoever looses his life for me will find it.”
Fellowship with other Christians who are of the same heart and in a group for service to God is something that is wonderful to be a part of. It may require your time, your offering to support the work, and especially prayer, etc. Jesus said: Luke 14:27-30 “And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.”
Luke 12:35 Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning.
Enjoy good Christian fellowship as we strive together in service to God and never let your focus drift from the true building of God’s kingdom here on earth.
If you have confidential prayer requests, please email them to: denainc@windstream.net . Your prayer request will be laid at God’s throne and the pray that is prayed will be sent back to you.
